I'm a system engineer from EAFIT University in Medellin - Colombia. I'm working with some people developing a simulation schedule to students in Colombia label e-kampus virtual city business. This schedule tries to reproduce a city with commerce to inform students between 16 and 20 years old in the world of business. It is a program to incentive the entrepreneurship in students of Colombia. In my country there is not much information about simulation games so I’m looking for information about simulation games and the relation with education. I ‘want to know if there is information or researches about the effectiveness of then application of simulation games on education.
Some educators dismiss the idea of a game-based learning environment as folly. However in thinking about the powerful intrinsic motivation in playful engagement. I query whether it can ever be said that nothing (whether desirable or undesirable) is learned from playig a bet that is at least somewhat challenging - regardless of its intentional or unintentional pedagogical circumscribe.
